This Friday, August 16th is National Rum Day and the South End’s new tiki hotspot Shore Leave is celebrating with an exclusive rum flight. Featuring their three private collaborations with Plantation Panama, Privateer and Rhum Clement, the flight includes a one-ounce pour of each spirit for $18.
Shore Leave is the only restaurant where guests are able to try these unique blends, which include:
Rum 1: Plantation Panama 12 year Shore Leave Barrel
Bottled in 2018, this rum was aged for 9 1/2 years in a used bourbon barrel, with continental aging of 1 year in cognac cask and finished in Arran Whisky Casks for a year and a half, for a total of 12 years. It’s delicate notes of raisin and baking spices are light but still warming.
Rum 2: Privateer Navy Yard Shore Leave Barrel #2
This balanced blend with notes of sweet cherry and vanilla comes from our beloved, local Privateer Rum, where it was aged in new American oak for two years. It’s a fan favorite, which is why it’s Shore Leave’s second barrel.
Rum 3: Rhum Clement Vieux Agricole Shore Leave Barrel
Hailing from the tropical island of Martinique, this rum was aged for three years in a bourbon barrel, giving it intense notes of ripe banana and wet hay.
Happy drinking! #NationalRumDay
