She Thinks She's Queen Elizabeth But She's Dirty Gerts to Me
“She Thinks She’s Queen Elizabeth But She’s Dirty Gerts To Me”” is a paper doll and pop-up extravaganza! This one-of-a-kind show for families is a groovy blend of historical fiction, ‘60s pop culture, and colorful confetti. Twist and shout with middle schooler Carol Lee Bell as she finds the trick to fitting in, and discovers the best way is to not actually fit at all!
All ages welcome, recommended for ages 5+
About the Artist:
Sarah Frechette (Puppeteer & Founder) is a touring puppeteer, arts educator, and stop-motion animation fabricator, splitting her time between Vermont, Europe and Portland. She trained with master puppeteer Albrecht Roser at his studio in Buoch, Germany; and is a graduate of UConn’s Puppet Arts Program. Sarah has toured internationally as both PuppetKabob and Night Shade, with an original repertoire of shows and her ensemble of roser-style marionettes across the U.S., Germany, France and China. Her show The Snowflake Man was awarded an UNIMA-USA citation of excellence. Over the past year, Sarah co-produced and hosted Vermont's first ever Creemee Dreemee Puppet Slam; and performed at Highlight NYE in Burlington, VT; the Boulet Brothers (Dragula) Halloween Ball in Los Angeles. CA; Lake Eden Arts Festival's 50th anniversary celebration in Black Mountain, NC; and in Seattle, WA at the Left Coast Puppet Love Fest. All while also honing her skills by working on miniature costumes and large-scale puppets for stop-motion animation films like Netflix's Wendell & Wild!
Jason Thibodeaux (Foley Artist & Director) is an award-winning writer/director for both film and stage. He did color design and fabrication for the stop-motion feature films Coraline, ParaNorman, The BoxTrolls, and Kubo and the Two Strings at LAIKA Studios; as well as for Guillermo Del Toro's Pinnochio; and Netflix’s Wendell & Wild. Jason is based in Portland, Oregon.
