A solo show based on the Romanian Orthodox Saint Teodora de la Sihla, but BEFORE she became a saint. Back when she was just a young lesbian novitiate trying to strike it holy in 1680’s Romania.
Come laugh, cry, pray, and make me extremely happy by being in the audience! Fresh off of the Mostly Medieval Theatre Festival in Kalamazoo, “Sfânta: Hell Bent on Heaven” is an absurdist romp through everyone’s favorite place, a medieval Romanian convent! Eight characters, one actor, and a whole lot of drama!
This show is FREE but donations are welcome! Click below for more details:

Critics have said:
“In Diana Lobontiu’s “Sfânta,” historical fact collides with hilarity in a Monty Pythonesque take on the life of an eccentric Romanian woman in search of love and sainthood. Lobontiu is a crafty jester, cleverly teasing out absurdity and earthiness in this tale based loosely on the life of that rarest of creatures, a female Romanian Christian Orthodox saint.”
– Suzanne Savoy, Performer & Playwright: Je Christine: A Medieval Woman in Her Own Words
“‘Sfânta: Hell Bent on Heaven’ brings together historical research, language, and contemporary performance style to show how looking back into the past is really a story about who we are today and who we want to become.”
