Are you interested in sexual freedom and sexual rights? This new Sex-Positive Action Group* will bring together people who share sex-positive values to brainstorm ways that we can create positive change in our community (and the world) and work toward the empowering sex-positive utopia that we hope for (little by little). Then we will work as a group to implement these plans.

Q: What topics will this group cover?
A: Topics we are likely to cover include: Comprehensive sex education, reproductive justice, gender equality, global sexual rights, and more. This will be a self-directed group, so feel free to propose an issue that you are passionate about!
Q: What are this group's values?
A: This group will be founded on the belief that our approach to activism should be fair, effective, intersectional, and open-minded. That includes: Being informed on both/all sides of an issue, being inclusive (including not expecting everyone to know all the most current language, etc.), basing our plans on research (when research is available/possible), welcoming open discussion and disagreement among ourselves (as opposed to a prescriptive belief system), considering many social justice issues (including racism, classism, ableism, etc.), and not being condescending (to each other, or anyone). We are also open to your suggestions for other values that can direct our activism.
Q: Who is this for?
A: This is a public group, and is open to everyone. People of all genders, sexual orientations, races, and backgrounds are welcome.
Q: Is there a schedule?
A: Here's the rough schedule:

+ Discuss (~2) project ideas from last meeting that we decided to move forward with. (Vote on which projects we'll start with here: https://forms.gle/PWjSn9sHe3sj79zV9)
+ Start working on making these ideas happen!
After the meeting, anyone who feels like it is invited to join us for chatting and hanging out at Daedalus, the bar next door.

A: There will be light snacks.

Q: Is it wheelchair accessible?
A: We will be in the Nelson Mandela Room, which is wheelchair accessible, but there is no accessible bathroom on site. Wheelchair users are welcome to use the accessible restroom at Daedalus while improvements for bathroom accessibility are being planned. To reach that bathroom, exit the ramp and turn left on Bow St, at the next building (Daedalus) use their accessible entrance and their restroom will be on the right.
