Hi, I am Saoirse and I am six years old. I love making pancakes with my mima, Evan, so I am hosting a Pancake Party to raise money for Make Shift Boston. I like to go to things at Make Shift like Break the Chains. I like Make Shift Boston because it is a place for queer people and freedom fighters, but kids can go there too, which makes it better than a bar.
Here's how it will work: kids can volunteer to help make pancakes. The pancakes will all be vegan because I am vegan. There will also be gluten free pancakes for people who don't eat gluten. All the kids who volunteer will get to split up 10% of the money that we collect at the door -- probably enough to get a cool but small toy -- and the rest will go to Make Shift Boston.
There will be games for bigger kids and toys for smaller kids. There will be a DJ (Mercedes Flowers!) and dancing for grownups and kids too. Mostly, there will be lots of pancakes. And vegan bacon.
People should donate between $10 and $20 for all you can eat pancakes. Anyone who doesn't have a lot of money can still come and eat pancakes. Make Shift is okay for people in wheelchairs. Everyone should come. If you have questions you should email my mima at [email protected]
