Sam Woolf closes the Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival on Sunday, August 18th shortly before the lights are launched at 9:30pm.
The Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival is a charity event with all proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the Jimmy Fund (Dana Farber Cancer Institute), and the Vietnamese-American Community of Massachusetts. The event aims to promote the interaction between the multitude of organizations present in Massachusetts, its ethnic groups, its artists, its businesses, and most importantly its youth. With its great display of lanterns, its amazing local performers, and its delicious food vendors - the Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival hopes to provide a truly unique experience for everyone in the community. Founded in honor of the traditional Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, the event invites everyone in the community to share a piece of Vietnamese culture while rallying behind a great cause. The success of this year's Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival will be attributed to the strength of the community in which we serves.
