Hi all!
Sam's Somerville Scoop Shop Scramble is a 4.1 mile urban adventure, hike, and ice cream crawl. I've asked JP Licks, Forge Ice Cream Bar, Gracie's Ice Cream, and Tipping Cow to provide mini sized portions for us. We're gonna go on a long walk and eat ice cream along the way!
The Route
- Start: J.P. Licks, Davis Square
- Elm St to Somerville Ave, Forge Ice Cream Bar
- Somerville Ave to Union Sq, Gracie's Ice Cream
- Somerville Ave to School St to Medford St, Tipping Cow
Options for Closing the Loop
My recommendation is to park near the end of the route in Winter Hill, near Tipping Cow, and take a bus to the start in Davis. Other options include Uber, BlueBikes, or walking an additional mile.
The Ice Cream
Each ticket gets one serving from each ice cream vendor. They'll be pre-scooping so they can serve a crowd quickly.
Rain Date
We'll have a rain date two weeks later, June 8th. Pray for sunshine!
FAQ
Can I join for part of the trip? - I'd recommend joining at just the start or the end, then buying ice cream from the shop directly.
Can I bike/scoot/drive along the way? - I'm not going to stop you. Walking is half the fun.
What flavors are available? - Still working this one out with the shops. We'll probably have limited quantities of 2-3 flavors to pick from.
What if I want more ice cream? - You can always buy a second ticket, or order directly from the shop.
How much do you like ice cream, Sam? - A lot.
