Please join us this Friday, June 19, 2020 for a Juneteenth March through Salem, MA.
Juneteenth commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States and as we listen to the experiences of our Black brothers and sisters today, we know that our country has a LONG way to go.
For more information on Juneteenth: https://www.juneteenth.com/history.htm
This is a peaceful march.
Absolutely no acts of violence, aggression, or looting will be tolerated as families are planning to bring their children.
*** Please wear a mask and maintain excellent social distancing measures.
*** Please DO NOT block or obstruct car or pedestrian traffic. According to the ACLU (2020), " as long as marchers don’t obstruct car or pedestrian traffic. If you don’t have a permit, police officers can ask you to move to the side of a street or sidewalk to let others pass or for safety reasons."
