Audrey Harrer’s Lavender is a cross-modal musical performance that celebrates how experience shapes and guides us—the feeling of soft linen, the slam of a door, a party, an ending, the smell of a perfume. In this multi-sensory work, customized refreshments, soundscapes, cinematic projections, and a “Sensory Program” provide a backdrop to mirrored pairs of performers—Harrer on harp/vocals/electronics with cellist Jesse Christeson, complimented by dancers Kristin Wagner and Tony Guglietti. A prologue will be performed by writer/humorist Jeannie Greeley.
Audrey Harrer is an alt-chamber composer/vocalist/harpist. She collaborates with chamber groups, experiments with music technologists, and performs nationally in rock clubs, recital halls and galleries. She finds clever ways to connect lyric and gesture and is particularly interested in the space where music and drama collide.
