Join UNMD Run Crew as we dedicate this Sunday's casual 5K to the memory of Jahaira DeAlto, ballroom star and activist, who was murdered in Boston last month. We are asking all of our community members to donate to Trans Resistance MA, which she helped found.
UNMD will match all donations up to $200 to support their work across the state. Sunday we will run from our normal spot and start with a moment of remembrance for Jahaira and all the Black Trans lives lost too soon. As a run crew founded on radical inclusion, we are committing our last Sunday run to Black Trans Lives. Rainbows and parades aside, we know that our Black Trans siblings, especially Black Trans women, are murdered at an astonishingly high rate and their deaths rarely investigated.
