Half of people who reach 85 years will have Alzheimer’s or other dementia. Neuroscientist Dr. Rudolph Tanzi will present the newest information on the causes of Alzheimer’s disease and review the remarkable progress in understanding this complex disease, including his lab’s discovery of four genes that cause the disease. He’ll also discuss the emerging therapies to treat Alzheimer’s and reduce risk. Finally, Dr. Tanzi will talk more broadly about how to keep our brains healthy and sharp through a variety of lifestyle interventions.
Dr. Rudolph Tanzi is a world-renowned Professor of Neurology at Harvard University, and Director of the Genetics and Aging Research Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is investigating the genetic causes of Alzheimer’s and developing therapies to treat and prevent Alzheimer’s. Dr. Tanzi and Dr. Deepak Chopra discuss the tools to help prevent Alzheimer’s and other chronic diseases in their trilogy of best-selling books and accompanying PBS shows: Super Brain, Super Genes, and The Healing Self.
