Join us online for a live community conversation between Turahn Dorsey, chief impact officer at the Eastern Bank Foundation, and Sandra M. McCroom, president and CEO of Children’s Services of Roxbury. Together, they’ll dive into Mr. Dorsey’s career as a researcher, policymaker, and strategist, focusing on his dedication to systems change and civic innovation. In his current role at the Eastern Bank Foundation and his former role as chief of education for the City of Boston, Dorsey has played a key leadership role advancing approaches to economic mobility and inclusion as well as guiding the Foundation’s efforts on measurement, evaluation and learning. As a grant maker, he is helping the team to make meaningful investments to transform early care and learning systems. Dorsey is also the co-founder of the Jazz Urbane Cafe, a new arts hub and full-service restaurant slated to open in Boston's Nubian Square and is the current board chair for the Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology.
About ROXTalks
Children’s Services of Roxbury established “ROXTalks” as an intentional effort to dismantle systemic racism, change the trajectory for communities of color, and build a more equitable Massachusetts. The 2023-2024 series of ROXTalks community conversations with The Commonwealth’s elected officials, community leaders, and influencers on “Forging One Boston” will feature discussions on transforming the social and economic health of communities of color across the Commonwealth, and breaking the cycle of systemic racism for future generations.
