When Rich Saunders was a child, his family and he would spend long, relaxing afternoons sitting in a circle, singing together in the way that only blood relatives truly can: creating close harmonies whose naturally blending tones seem the result of some kind of built-in genetic code.Fast forward a couple of decades and, though much has happened in the interim—a period spent as one-third of Universal-signed group Thirdstory, a stint singing backing vocals for Chance the Rapper, a trans-Atlantic, more experimental duo going by the name Refs, and an exploding TikTok profile with over 770K followers—it's still those magical vocal moments that are at the crux. However, now, they're coming primarily from the singer himself under new, voice-centric solo project, Rich.
Linda Diaz is a singer-songwriter from the Lower East Side of Manhattan. She is the winner of the 2020 NPR Tiny Desk Contest. Diaz is easily recognized by her unique, gentle yet soulful tone, poetic lyricism, and lush vocal arrangements that lend a jazz sensibility to her alternative R&B/pop sound. Her skillful voice and commanding stage presence honed on the NYC circuit compliment her soft, intoxicating power. Diaz won the NPR Tiny Desk Contest with a live rendition of her original song “Green Tea Ice Cream.” She was featured singing and performing in the MTV VMAs J BALVIN x TOYOTA commercial. Diaz is of Afro Puerto Rican descent and frequently collaborates on mission driven work. In 2022, she performed at Lincoln Center to commemorate historian Howard Zinn and kick off the center’s re-opening. Most recently, she released her latest single, "I'll Be Around" which garnered critical acclaim from both fans and press alike. The single accrued over 300K streams in under two months. The release of the single was followed by a (sold out) headline show at SOB's in New York. She is the co-host of the award-winning PBS musical education series Sound Field. Diaz is also a former competitive chess player and national chess champion. She is based in Brooklyn, NY.
