Join the National Park Service for a conversation exploring the intersection of environmental justice and the Boston Harbor Islands.
Over the course of their existence, the Boston Harbor Islands have served a variety of purposes for inhabitants of the Greater Boston area.
Some communities have approached their relationship with the islands through the lens of reciprocity and communal use, while other communities have viewed the islands as places of boundless resources and spaces apart from the mainland.
Featuring Melanie Gárate, Director of Climate Engagement at the Stone Living Lab, this presentation will explore the historic and contemporary intersections of environmental justice and the Boston Harbor Islands.
*This is a hybrid event. Please register for "In-person Admission" if you plan to join us at the Leventhal Room (Boston Harbor Hotel).
