While the stars are gathered in Hollywood for the biggest night in film, Boston’s best and brightest will head to the Fairmont Copley Plaza on February 24 for the Ellie Fund’s 23rd Annual Red Carpet Gala, the city’s iconic celebration and exclusive viewing party of the 91st Annual Academy Awards®. Presented in partnership with WCVB Channel 5, Boston’s News and Community Leader and local ABC affiliate, the Gala invites local movie lovers and philanthropists to hit the Red Carpet in their black-tie finest.


The star-studded event will feature WCVB’s news anchors Emily Riemer and Ben Simmoneau as Red Carpet Hosts and WCVB’s evening news anchors Maria Stephanos and Ed Harding as Emcees. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour with live music provided by violinist Rhett Price and hosted bars with beer courtesy of Peroni Nastro Azzurro, wine and featured Diageo liquors. Gourmet Chef Stations presented by BostonChefs.com will highlight creations from the city’s best restaurants and chefs including Oak & Rowan, Outlook Kitchen, Sulmona and Island Creek Oysters among others. Live and Silent auctions with mobile bidding will feature donations from Featured Auction Sponsors Samsonite, Beautycounter, Chestnut Hill Square and many other generous donors. Attendees will be treated to deluxe gift bags with products from Featured Gift Bag Sponsor Showcase SuperLux and more. The evening concludes with an exclusive live telecast of the Academy Awards® from Hollywood and live entertainment from Almost Owen.


Event proceeds will be used to provide nutritional and grocery assistance, transportation to medical appointments, childcare, light housekeeping, prepared/delivered meals and integrative therapies to breast cancer patients and their families across Massachusetts in 2019.
