What pairs best with Cool Ranch Doritos? Flamin' Hot Cheetos? And if junk food bags list all their scary additives—why don't wine bottles?
BY POPULAR DEMAND!
Y'all asked for it, so here it is! A junk food pairing class, just for you :)
In this fun + mostly lighthearted class, we'll talk about the joys of junk food and what wines pair best with all that MSG. And because Lauren is incapable of not using every opportunity to discuss sustainable foodways and the lies of the industrial wine sector, we'll also talk about the real story behind wine additives, labeling laws, and everyone's favorite scapegoat—sulphites.
As usual, we'll taste two wines. Tickets include a one-hour Zoom sesh, 2 randomly selected lunchbox-size bags of junk food, and 1 movie rec to set your Saturday up for success.
Please make sure to check your email for the zoom link one hour before class! If you sign up last-minute, we'll send another link out 5 minutes before class starts.
FAQ:
– Where can I buy the wines for this class?
Featured wines will be available for purchase at Rebel Rebel one week prior to the class date. Order the wines here: https://rebelrebelsomervillewineonine.square.site. You don't need to purchase wines to enjoy the class! If you're remote, we can suggest alternatives, or you can tune in as a teetotaler and still learn something.
– What's the link to join?
You'll receive a Zoom link to attend class the day of the event via email, so make sure your Eventbrite account email address is valid!
– I'm not in the Boston area. How do I get the wines?
Contact your local wine store (try for a small business, not a liquor store/supermarket) and ask them if they have the wines in stock. If not, ask if they have any suggestions for alternatives that fit the bill (bonus points if they're natural wines!).
