Sunday, July 12: Blind tasting is fun!
Blind tasting has been a wine-o past time for ages—the premise is simple. Guess the wine! In this class, we'll take you through the basics of blind tasting, what the categories are, and get you more in touch with the different elements of texture and flavor in your wine. We'll talk through how blind tasting can get you more understanding of your wines, but also explain why blind tasting is, in effect, nothing more than a party game that shouldn't be taken seriously.
These wines will be sold in paper sleeves in order to disguise the wine—no peeking! We're working with the honor system here.
WINE SCHOOL IS BACK TO SAVE US! it’s all online bb—just put pants on, k? (or don’t tbh we’ll never know) here’s what’s up: @_ciliegiolo is back, bringing you the best in natural wine ed from the comfort and safety of your home.
we’re figuring it out as we go along, but so far we’ve set up a nice little situation using Zoom, the digital conferencing service. we’re releasing class info via social media (so follow us to keep up!), but if you want to be in-the-know ahead of time, sign up for our newsletter (form at the bottom of the page).
how it works:
step 1: pick your classes from the selection on our Eventbrite page!
We'll taste two wines and talk regions, producers, drama etc. and leave you feeling excited and empowered about natural wine.
Featured wines will be available for purchase at Rebel Rebel the week prior to the class date. You don't need to purchase wines to enjoy the class! If you're remote, we can suggest alternatives, or you can tune in as a teetotaler and still learn something.
You'll receive a Zoom link to attend class a few hours before the event start, so make sure your Eventbrite account email address is valid!
step 2: sign up for the Eventbrite
step 3: get your wine! we’ll have a selection on-hand for you to purchase online in advance of the class—head to the ORDER WINE TO GO tab at the top of the page and look for the wines under the class heading. You can order for contactless pickup or Thursday delivery.
a brief interruption: you do NOT need to have access the wines we’re planning around to participate—we’re extremely happy to help you find analogues for what we’’ll be teaching around! these classes are designed for the times, meaning there’s plenty to learn no matter what’s in your glass ✨ you can also always tune in sans-wine and still learn a TON about geography, geology, climate, history, etc etc.
we know tons of folks all over the country, so don’t hesitate to ask for suggestions of places to shop!
step 4: tune in
make sure you download the zoom app either on your phone or computer! just click the link we gave you, and tune in! if you tune in early, there’s a chance the meeting will show an old class name—DON’T PANIC! it’s the correct link, and it will show the current class as soon as the host starts the class.
