Raising Spectacular Roses Organically and Without Chemicals: The presentation is highly photographic; emphasis is on the beauty of “old rose” blossoms and their extraordinary scent. A 100% organic, chemical-free approach is presented. Key steps in the growing of roses are emphasized, as well as garden design concepts to enhance their beauty. Content is based on three decades of hands on learning gleaned from years or trial and error. Concentration is on Ornamental Roses: namely, English, Floribunda, Grandiflora and Hybrid Tea roses.
Eric Eisenhauer is a graduate of Bowdoin College, Harvard Business School, and a Vietnam Veteran. He has grown roses for over three decades and is a Qualified Rosarian under the auspices of the Royal Horticultural Society (UK). He is a Massachusetts Principal Master Gardener, and a member of their Speakers Bureau. He serves on the Cohasset Conservation Commission and is an ardent defender of our indigenous flora. He converted in 2009 to a 100% organic, chemical-free approach to rose cultivation. All personal fees are donated to the Wounded Warriors Project in support of our injured veterans.
This lecture is part of a new Wednesday evening winter workshop series offered at The Stevens-Coolidge Place.
