October is the most beautiful month on the farm, as the deciduous trees surrounding the field start to glow with autumn colors. We will gather leaves and make fall crafts, hunt for spooky spiders, and learn about the very end of the growing season. This is a weekly sign-up, though we encourage you to attend all four weeks to maximize your fall fun on the farm!
Your little farm explorers will become fully immersed in what life is like here at Chestnut Hill Farm. Each morning will be a new learning experience. We will begin by learning about a seasonal topic based on what is happening in nature or the yearly cycle on the farm. We will take a walk on the farm, relating what we’ve learned to everything we are seeing! We may go on a nature scavenger hunt, look for wildlife, search for animal signs, or visit the farm animals. We will also make something together for your little one to treasure at home. This could be a related craft, something for the wildlife in your yard, planted seeds, or something yummy in a jar!
This is a weekly sign-up. Each week will have different themes, and we encourage you to sign up for a month at a time!
We have an indoor space to use for art and other activities, but we will also be spending time outdoors so make sure to come with layers!
This program is recommended for children age 2 years 9 months to age 5. Adult supervision is required; this is not a drop off program. Little farmers and their grownups should wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get a little dirty. Fee covers one child and an adult. Younger siblings between 1.5 and 2.9 years are welcome with an additional fee of $12/$18 for member/nonmembers. Siblings under age 1.5 can attend at no additional cost.
Please note, while we love dogs, they are not permitted at Chestnut Hill Farm.
