Join us on July 5th for an evening of dynamic art and celebration as we prepare to say farewell to our current show Calibration. Calibration is a group show of work by artists, Audrey An, Raina Lee, Cathay Lu, and Danyang Anna Song. These four artists combine the nuances of ceramics with the precision of 3D printing technology. These pieces create a fascinating dialogue between traditional practice and modern technical advancement, as each object carries the unique qualities of its maker's mark, clearly evident in the glazing, manipulation of colors, and firing process. Metaphorically, combining technology and craft in the practice for these artists, who are either immigrants, or children of immigrants from East Asian countries, represents the constant demand to "switch code" and learn multiple languages in order to fit in, and at the same time carving out a space that they can belong.
