The Lesley University Strauch-Mosse Visiting Artist Lecture Series presents Teddy Cruz and Fonna Forman, who are principals in Estudio Teddy Cruz + Fonna Forman, a research-based political and architectural practice investigating issues of informal urbanization, civic infrastructure and public culture, with a special emphasis on Latin American cities. Cruz and Forman lead a variety of urban research agendas and civic/public interventions in the San Diego-Tijuana border region and beyond, including the UC San Diego Cross-Border Initiative, a platform for research and teaching on poverty and social equity in the border region.
Teddy Cruz and Fonna Forman’s work at the intersection of visual arts, social justice, and urbanism connects to Lesley University’s unique focus on the human arts, and we are proud to welcome them to our Strauch-Mosse Visiting Artist Lectures. Since 2009, the series has presented leaders such as Edwidge Danticat, Derek Wolcott, Richard Blanco, Christopher Jackson, Judith Jamison, Mark Dion, and many more, to share their influential work with the greater Boston/Cambridge community.
Event is free and open to the public. There will be a reception following.
