Of Puerto-Rican descent, Yenny Hernandez wants to encourage all dreamers and create space to acknowledge the complexities present in the Latinx journey to dream fulfillment. A 2,500 square foot vinyl mural, “Ponle Vuelo A Tus Sueños/Let Your Dreams Take Flight”, enveloping the exterior of the Prudential Center facing Boylston Street offers visitors encouragement through vibrant colors, tropical foliage, and nostalgic imagery.
Designed to seize the gaze of viewers and lead the eye upward upon entering the building, the project is a celebration of what’s possible, exploring how uplifting words can help us transform and reframe our outlook on life. It is a recognition of journeys that included breaking through language, education, and socioeconomic barriers. This boundless work will act as a catalyst and a catcher encouraging us all to recommit and pursue our dreams. “Ponle Vuelo A Tus Sueños/Let Your Dreams Take Flight” was commissioned by Boston Properties (BXP) and curated by Now + There.
