From the German word for hill, hugels are an adaptable and buildable method of sustainable gardening. These raised beds, filled with garden refuse, hold water and flourish in many climates. Join us in building a hugel for the ifarm garden, and learn how you can use this technique in your own garden.
We will be finishing construction on a large hugel, and planting for the upcoming season. Head Permaculturist Debby Richards will introduce participants to the basics of permaculture and the use of hugels. We will be working in the garden, so please come dressed for the weather and ready to get your hands dirty!
