Mount Hale is a 4,055 feet mountain in Bethlehem, NH in the Twin Range and is one of the 48 4000-footers. The Zealand access road is closed during the winter, which adds 5 flat miles to the distance. This is a great opportunity for people to try snowshoeing in a low-risk environment. The ascent itself is a short 2.2-mile hike to the summit and a relatively straight path. There are remains of a fire tower, but the views are limited.

Hiking 4000 footers in the winter is not an easy task. This particular hike has little elevation gain, but is long.
This hike is good for all peak baggers new to winter hiking who has taken the winter hiking class or equivalent. Additionally, if you have all of the required gear and have 3-season hiking experience, you may also attend.
