Our September exhibit features paintings of Laurinda O’Connor of Milton, MA. The show will be on display September 1 – 30, 2017.
Public will have a chance to meet Laurinda twice during the exhibit:
either at the artist reception on Friday evening, September 8, from 6 to 8 pm,
or at her art demonstration and talk on Saturday, September 23 from 12 to 2 pm, both are open to all and free to attend.
Laurinda O'Connor, award-winning artist, designer, and instructor, holds a BFA from UMass and an MFA from Boston University. She works as a graphic designer and teaches art to adults and children of all ages. She has won numerous awards and exhibited her works in many art galleries. Laurinda talks about her work: “As a pastel artist, I strive to let simplified strokes of color and line create a path into a scene and moment in time. The process of painting allows me to lose myself in my painting while the immediacy of pastels offer a palette for every mood and season. The small chunks of pure pigment offer the perfect tool to swipe in a stroke or add that extra small detail of light. I push myself to capture the sense I feel from the landscape as well as to create the up-close excitement of color, texture, and expression on the surface of my paper.”
