Description
Delve deep into Latin dance partnering, exploring connection, hip & body movements, leading, following, footwork, balance, rhythm & musicality, spirit, elegance, and passion, and apply these universal elements to Bachata and Salsa, to fill your body with energy and confidence, more fully interpret each song, enable a nuanced and sensitive relationship with each dance partner, and gain command of the dance floor!
Workshop 1 (October 16th) will lay the foundation for Latin dance partnering and organically explore Bachata and Salsa core elements, movements, and partnering.
Workshop 2 (October 23rd) will focus in detail on Salsa (on 1), putting all the partnering elements together to produce the complete Salsa flavor of each song, and exploring a great choreographed combination.
Workshop 3 (October 30th) will focus in detail on Bachata, work on creating a flexible, highly connected, and nuanced partnering, to allow for endless hip and body movement explorations and sensuality, and will culminate with a juicy choreographed combination!
This multi-level class is suitable for adults (18 & up) in moderate physical condition. All genders welcome. No partner necessary. All students will work on foundational elements, and intermediate & advanced students will be guided to embellish, nuance, and layer their movements and techniques.
Each session will cover new techniques, rhythms, mantras, movements, and combinations, beginning with a 1.5-hour workshop, and followed by a 1-hour open dance practice, so you can join any time, always learn something new, and get to improvise and explore!
