Jonathan Latiano presents an installation mourning the loss of the white Rhino to extinction. Latiano fills the gallery with thousands of hand-cut black foam fragments to build an ominous landscape. While deeply unnatural in origin, the mounds of foam emulate natural formations reminiscent of volcanic stone, creating a perceived “human” environment.
