SONG / LAND / SEA | WAI Water Warning (On Public View: July 26, 2024 - May 2025)
WAI Water Warning by Boston-based artist Lani Asunción emerges as a public art installation and performance series serving as a warning of environmental change, echoing amidst the accelerating climate crisis. As our earth undergoes rapid transformation, this work stands as a stark reminder of the profound shifts reshaping the coastline of the City of Boston.
Please make sure to bring a blanket for picnic-style seating at the performance. Benches will be available for wheelchair accessible seating.
Opening Event & Performance: Tabi Tabi Po (May I Pass)
A tribute to water, ocean, and Fort Point Channel - this performance is both a blessing and a warning, performed to offer space for community care and engagement. The structure of the performance is created from the coded elements of the Water Clock and WAI Design incorporating elements of Hawaiian mele chants, contemporary dance, in addition to experimental sound, music, and performance. Join us in celebrating this new public work and participate in the performance during the opening event on July 25th on the Greenway.
