Join us in celebrating the opening of Draw Me, Ishmael: The Book Arts of Moby Dick — the first exhibition focused on the bookbinding, typography and illustrations of the hundreds of editions published since 1851. Drawn almost entirely from the Phillips Library collection, this small but mighty exhibition explores decades of creative approaches to interpreting this seafaring adventure novel visually in book form.
Attend a special screening of In the Heart of the Sea, based on the true story that inspired Moby Dick, and join our drop-in art making activity to make your own book to take home.
Film Screening: In the Heart of the Sea

Same-day tickets required; available at the Information desk.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Brendan Gleeson, Tom Holland and Cillian Murphy, this film is based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s bestselling nonfiction book of the same name. Directed by Ron Howard. Warner Bros Pictures. 2015. 2 hrs, 2 mins. Rated PG-13. English with English subtitles.
