Music to your ears, Martin House Farm is opening on July 10th for another season of house tours and fun events!
Martin House Farm offers a glimpse back in time, a simple time and lots of time was spent together as a family. The property is a rare example of an 18th and early 19th century farm which still retains the character of its original setting. It consists of the house, two barns and cultivated fields surrounded by dry stone walls and woodlands. Visitors can peek into the hay barn and visualize days gone by when the farmer was storing his hay there for bedding, covering crops, and feeding animals. The home was lived in continuously by members of the Martin family for over 200 years. Each room allows you to step back in time and visualize life in the early 1700’s.
Martin House Farm is owned and operated by The National Society of The Colonial Dames in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This non profit organization is celebrating its 128th year of service promoting it's missions which include historic preservation, patriotic services, sponsoring veterans programs and educational programs focused on early US history. Martin House Farm is located at 22 Stoney Hill Road, Swansea. OPEN: Sunday's from 1- 4pm through September. Please visit our website NSCDAMA.org or our Martin House Farm Facebook page for more information.
