Join us for a pop-up dinner event, held in the cool loft space of our host, Adam, in Somerville near Union Square. Somerville fiber sculptor Jodi Colella will invite us to make connections through art. Jodi is a member of Boston Sculptors Gallery, and is the recipient of a 2019 Mass. Cultural Council Fellowship Award for Sculpture. She has exhibited and taught extensively in the US, and internationally in Canada, China, Thailand and Greece. She is currently exhibiting in Human Impact: Stories of the Opioid Epidemic at Fuller Craft Museum, and was recently featured on WGBH TV’s Open Studio with Jared Bowen.
Our amazing Peruvian dinner will be prepared by Chef José Barriga, a native of Peru who since 2012 has been seasonally teaching Peruvian cuisine and healthy cooking both independently and with community partners, including the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, MGH and Nibble, a culinary program with the City of Somerville. José owned two Peruvian restaurants in the Los Angeles area in the ‘90s, and has worked locally at Craigie on Main and Dali. He founded the Cambridge Food Lab in 2015. When he is not in the kitchen, he is helping non-profits, healthcare providers, government and the biotech industry to access the US Latino / Hispanic market.
The Peruvian menu will consist of:
- Ceviche with corn and sweet potatoes (contains fish)
- Papa a la huancaina - potatoes with sauce (Contains milk. Also has optional boiled egg as garnish. )
- Quinoa salad with vegetables and potatoes, with optional aji amarillo chilis
- Dessert: papaya salad
Before placing your order, please alert us to any food allergy or special dietary needs by emailing us at [email protected]. Please include name, contact information and dietary restrictions.
The meal will be served in courses, and guests are invited to mingle while eating. We're testing a new more fluid approach without table seating, but instead open seating for movement during the meal. But one thing won't change and that's the opportunity for real connection.
BTW - this event is on our host, Adam's, birthday! We're excited he's choosing to celebrate with us...and you. Wish him a happy birthday, when you see him there.
This event is limited to forty guests. Your seat at this event is not guaranteed until you receive a final confirmation email.
