Also known as pick and pluck, fingerstyle ukulele is all about using your fingers to pluck the four strings of the ukulele. In the 7-week course you will learn how to
- read tablature (tabs)
- read notes
- correctly use your fingers
- pluck accompaniments, also known as fingerpicking
- pluck melodic riffs
- play classical music
- learn chord melody arrangements
- listen and play against another line of music
A virtual workshop is one which is online and interactive. Each of the 7 weekly hourly sessions will be recorded and available to workshop participants together with a handout of what's covered and homework. This is NOT a webinar. You will be seen and heard. You can ask questions, play and get heard and receive feedback.
This first taster workshop on April 11th is entirely FREE, to prepare you for the course which begins the following week on Saturday April 18th and every week for 7 weeks.
For more information, please visit the Event Website and RSVP. Only after you RSVP can you see the ZOOM meeting link. You can enter at anytime to do a sound and lighting check before the workshop begins.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Based in Boston, Massachusetts but currently self-isolating in the rolling hills of Kent, known as the "garden of England", Anne Ku has moved all her face-to-face group classes online through ZOOM virtual sessions. Anne’s new book for complete beginners takes you from holding your ukulele to playing Iz’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in ten steps. http://www.anneku.com
FEEDBACK FROM PREVIOUS STUDENTS:
Anne Ku knows so much about music and teaching. It is clear that she loves playing songs with others.
Fun, friendly instructor, makes it easy to learn!
Anne's Beginning Ukulele class was so much fun! I was nervous as a beginner, but since taking the course I've found that I can improvise and play simple songs. Anne's teaching style is fun and engaging
