Is clutter taking over your home or workspace? Creating safety problems in your living area? Affecting your life and your relationships? If so, join us for this 8 week online group presented by South Shore Clutter Reduction Collaborative.
South Shore Clutter Reduction Collaborative (www.SouthShoreCRC.org) with generous support from South Shore Elder Services is reaching out to seniors (age 60+) who experience challenges with clutter and/or hoarding.
Online support groups are now open for 8 week sessions beginning in August.
You must be a resident of one of the following communities to join: Braintree, Cohasset, Hingham Holbrook, Hull, Milton, Norwell, Quincy, Randolph, Scituate, or Weymouth. We are not able to include residents from other towns at this time as this is a grant-funded program that requires inclusion of a particular geographic area.
Groups are FREE to join. Groups meet weekly, online and are facilitated by a social work clinician with expertise in working with persons who hoard. The group will meet online (Wednesdays from 9:00AM-10:30AM).
Clutter Reduction Coaching Group for Seniors is for seniors (age 60+) who are seeking to learn more about how to manage the problem of clutter and hoarding - and to find support and motivation among others who share similar concerns. Please join us!
Over 8 weeks, we'll read and discuss portions of the book Buried in Treasures (Tolin, Frost & Steketee, 2014) which provides insight into hoarding and clutter and how to manage the problem.
Participants will be asked to complete a pre- and post-group assessment (to assess experiences with clutter) via phone interview. Seats are limited and a waiting list will be kept in the event that additional spaces open up.
This South Shore Clutter Reduction Collaborative group is made possible by the sponsorship of the Scituate Hoarding Response Team in partnership with Boston University School of Social Work and with generous support from South Shore Elder Services.
