The April installment of the Boston Music Award winning residency unifies through the sounds of Ghost-Folk, Old Soul Rock and Roll and Folk-Rock!
Nate Leavitt & The Elevation
Blending elements of roots, americana and rock, the resulting sound can best be described as ghost folk. It makes perfect sense that Nate Leavitt would call his band The Elevation. Having played lead guitar in groups such as Delta Clutch, The Blizzard of 78, OldJack and Parlour Bells for a little over twenty years, Leavitt knows all too well how working with others can help songs transcend their origins and elevate performance to a new level.
The two time Boston Music Award nominee for Singer Songwriter of the Year (2014, 2016) is currently working on a follow up to the 2016 six song EP, Someone Send a Signal.
Oldjack
Since their first show way back in 2008, critics and fans knew there was something unique about OldJack. Hailed as the most underrated band in Boston, with three guitars, bass, drums, organ/keys, and a front man from yesterday, OldJack belts out their original material with lots of harmonies, big vocals, and guitar solos galore. From being the underdog, wild card winning, reprieved Rock n’ Roll Rumble finalists to Boston Music Awards nominees and a staple of multiple music festivals in the northeast – OldJack has firmly planted their feet in the New England Music Scene, making music for music’s sake.
The Wolff Sisters
Gritty and raw folk-rock outfit The Wolff Sisters & The Last Cavalry first broke into the Boston music scene as an acoustic trio. With haunting harmonies and songs reminiscent of washed up wanderers on New England’s salty coasts, Rebecca, Rachael, and Kat stole Boston’s heart as The Wolff Sisters (yes, they’re really sisters). Born to a poet and a musician, they grew up on the heavy realism of Dylan and Springsteen blended with the loose and loud Rolling Stones. Drawing inspiration from blues giants like Howlin’ Wolf and modern storytellers Dawes, The Wolff Sisters don’t fit into one genre of music. With Rebecca on acoustic guitar, Rachael on electric guitar, Kat on keys, and all three on vocals, the sisters spent years honing their sound together in an old victorian house just outside Boston.
