Join Dr. Jaimie Crumley on Zoom for a fascinating look at the research methods used to discover Black women’s and children’s stories in the archives of the Old North Church. On Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the Old North Foundation’s new Research Fellow will lead part 1 of a two-part series addressing the silences in Old North’s archival records concerning the lives of Black women and children. Dr. Crumley will explain how she dives into pew deeds, baptism records, and other archival documents to illuminate the hidden histories of those who have been marginalized and overlooked. The online event is accessible with a donation of any amount to support the Old North Foundation’s virtual and on-site programs, which aim to inspire children and adults alike to consider the ways in which they can build a more just and equitable world.
