Starting with the creation stories of Cape Cod and the Islands as recounted by Indigenous communities, Nightingale delves into the region’s geological formation while highlighting other significant historical moments. From the arrival of the first Europeans to the waves of Irish immigration in Boston, the flourishing whaling and fishing industries, labor movements in hydro-powered mills and contemporary ecological politics that will shape the Bay State’s future, this performance weaves together a rich musical tapestry celebrating our beloved New England home.
