What does it mean to be a "good" person? This leads to another important question: what makes for a "good" life?
In Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle examines these timeless philosophical questions with a (seemingly) simple answer, and offers us a way to find our way to those answers for ourselves.
Aristotle suggests that there are many expressions of "good" which can vary according to temperament and circumstance. For one who is poor, wealth seems to be the ultimate good. While, for someone who is ill, good health is their goal. But there is one good that all human beings aspire to regardless of circumstances, and that is happiness.
But in an ever-changing world, what is true, lasting happiness?
In this workshop, we will discuss a few of the ideas of Aristotle on what we can do to live a happy life, and hopefully find some keys for finding our best life. No prior knowledge of his teachings are necessary: only bring an open mind and a passion for learning!
