Nahant Music Festival presents St. Mark Passion by Reinhard Keiser.
A contemporary of Johann Sebastian Bach, we invite you to this rare oppotunity to hear this piece in its entirety.
Featuring Sumner Thompson as Evangelist, Mark McSweeney as Jesus, and soloists Shannon Rose McAuliffe, soprano, Pamela Dellal, mezzo-soprano, Murray Kidd, tenor, and David Kravitz, baritone. Marius Bahnean is principal organist. The 2019 Donald R. Wilkinson Vocal Apprentices will also be highlighted.
The concert will be played by members of the Boston's illustrious Emmanuel Music orchestra and will be conducted by Nahant Music Festival's new Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, Eric Christopher Perry.
This concert is dedicated to the memory of Nahant Music Festival founder Donald Wilkinson, who passed away in 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Proceeds of this concert will go toward the Donald R. Wilkinson Vocal Apprentice Program and Scholarship Fund, to assist aspiring vocal artists in their artistic ventures for years to come.
We are excited for our debut performance in Gloucester, Massachusetts at St. John's Episcopal Church. Tickets are extremeley limited and we encourage online purchase today. Tickets at the door are subject to availability.
