Come enjoy some traditional Chinese music right in the heart of Boston! This Friday evening, musicians from the Hsinchu City Youth Chinese Orchestra are performing in the Church of the Covenant. They've traveled all the way from Taiwan to Boston to share some pieces of traditional Chinese culture with you!
The Hsinchu City Youth Chinese Orchestra is an ensemble that performs traditional Chinese orchestral music. Founded in 2011 and led by distinguished conductor Chiang-pin Liu, the HCYCO has grown to be one of the most accomplished and highly-respected Chinese orchestras in the world. The instruments and melodies they'll be bringing date back hundreds and even thousands of years. We're truly fortunate to have sixteen of their instrumentalists performing here in Boston this Friday - come enjoy their artistry and passion!
The concert will feature eight pieces of chamber music. This event is free, with a suggested donation of $20. The Church of the Covenant is a wheelchair-accessible space. No flashes or bright lights will be used or allowed during the concert.
This event is sponsored by the Horizon Ensemble.
