Boston’s fourteenth Music for Food season concludes with fireworks on Sunday, April 7th, at 7:30pm in New England Conservatory’s Brown Hall. The season finale features preeminent pianist Marc-André Hamelin and renowned actor Hershey Felder in a performance of Richard Strauss’ melodrama Enoch Arden (based on Alfred Lord Tennyson’s epic poem) for piano and narrator. All proceeds from this concert will benefit Women’s Lunch Place.
Music for Food Boston’s 14th Season–Parlando–is all about musical storytelling. Each program features both a piece with spoken-word elements. Enoch Arden tells the story of a sailor who, after having been lost at sea for more than eleven years, returns home to discover his wife remarried and his old life left behind. In Strauss’ setting, the piano supports the dramatic narration with color, character, and dynamism. Performed by 11-time Grammy nominee Marc-Andre Hamelin and world-renowned pianist, playwright, and actor Hershey Felder, this Enoch Arden is not to be missed. More information about the concert and a link to donate may be found at https://musicforfood.net/boston/s14c4.
