Starting at midnight on June 21st, 2023, I will attempt to climb Mount Wachusett as many times as possible in a calendar day. To the best of my knowledge the current calendar day "standard" for most climbs is 31, which I was able to set in December 2021. I'll keep a strict schedule for myself on June 21st, but I encourage anyone who's interested to join my "team" and set your own summit goal, starting and ending at the time of your preference.
We acknowledge with respect and gratitude that the land on which we recreate is the traditional territory of the Agawam and Nipmuc peoples.
How to join!
There is a buy-in donation of $20 per hiker if you'd like to officially join the team, all of which goes to the #SummitsInSolidarity Campaign, an annual hiking initiative to raise $35K+ by June 30th for critical anti-racism and outdoor access work being led by communities of color.
Visit the SiS website for details on how to “Summit in Solidarity”, maximize your impact, and to see other Summits in Solidarity hikes that are happening in your area. Participants, in particular white hikers, are encouraged to fundraise amongst their family and friends via Instagram, Facebook, GoFundMe, or similar platforms.
The more people that join, the bigger the impact our team will have on Summits in Solidarity's fundraiser for racial justice and equity work. Please note that there is a maximum of 10 people for trail etiquette.
Once our team is solidified, place an order for your team's Solidarity bandana flags to wear on your hike. Since all shipments are manually packaged by a volunteer, please consolidate orders by shipping your team's bandanas to one address whenever possible.
Participants who happen to be in the White Mountains on June 24th are welcome to attend Solidarity Night (and weekend) at the Notch Hostel to make friends, increase your impact, and fully immerse yourselves in this amazing community effort.
By signing up and/or attending this hike, you agree to the Liability Waiver Below:
