Görebläster Körpse-härvest Lunden -
Görebläster Körpse-härvest Lunden (Will Lunden) is the guitarist for Boston-based death metal band The Beast of Nod. He has been playing guitar in one form or another for about 18 years, most recently having transitioned to playing primarily eight-string guitars. With The Beast of Nod, Görebläster has recorded two EPs since late 2014 and performed at a variety of New England venues alongside both local and national acts (Soilwork, Unearth, Vital Remains, Otep). He has also written the music for the band's upcoming full-length record, to be recorded in Q1 of 2017. Outside of music, Görebläster is a fourth-year PhD student in atomic physics at MIT, where he studies the properties of ultracold atomic gases in optical lattices. He also has an interest in circuit design which he applies both to developing new laboratory instruments and to designing audio electronics.
MIT HEAVY METAL 101
Not a Metallurgy course! Returning after a brief hiatus, this veteran crash-course is coming back in full force and will have you head banging, air guitaring, and devil horn raising in no time! Learn everything you ever wanted to know about Heavy Metal, including how Metallica tries too hard to be cool, why Lemmy IS God (RIP), and why you might already be a metalhead and not even know it.
We'll look at metal cultures, explore the fringes of the most extreme forms of metal, and, of course, listen to some SCREAMING HEAVY METAL! This is guaranteed to be the most BRUTAL class ever offered at MIT! WARNING: This series most definitely goes to 11! Earplugs optional.
