About the session: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is geared toward anyone who is interested in learning how to practice and cultivate mindfulness, whether formally or informally, during the course of their lives. To anyone who is seeking to be more present to attend to their lives, personal and professional relationships, their surrounding environment. To anyone who is looking to learn how to use their inner resources and foster their abilities to more effectively respond to stress, pain, and illness.


Benefits of MBSR: This approach can enhance overall health, calm, compassion, concentration, improved sleep, self-esteem, groundedness, better communication, and resilience. Through scientific research, participants have exhibited lasting decreases in physical and psychological symptoms such as: reduced anxiety, chronic pain, addiction, attention deficit, and depression.


About the facilitator: Maïté is a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher. She felt a pull to pursue a career path in which human wellbeing can be met meaningfully and trained through UMass Medical School Center for Mindfulness, the birthplace of MBSR, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Maïté is also the founder of The Institute for Mindfulness and Movement. She is committed to guiding individuals from all walks of life into exploring active healthy lifestyles and living more (wake)fully in the present moment.
