The Feldenkrais Method® is a sensory-motor learning process for expanding possibilities in movement and life. With an understanding that the mind, body, and environment are inextricably linked, we use movement as an entry point to rewire patterns of thinking, feeling, sensing, and action on conscious and unconscious levels. The method is named after its founder: the brilliant 20th century engineer, physicist, and judo master Moshe Feldenkrais.

Who is Feldenkrais® for?

-you want to stay active as you age

-you want to sustain a high level of performance

-you want to improve posture, balance, or breathing

-you suffer from repetitive stress injuries

-you want to restore function after injury

-you are living with chronic pain

-you have a neurological condition

-you want to reconnect with your natural abilities to move, think, and feel

-you want to enhance your abilities, skill, and creativity

Groups classes are called Awareness Through Movement® or ATM®. These lessons are verbally guided movement sequences. Each lesson is different and the emphasis is on making slow, easy movements with attention in a range that is comfortable for you. Lessons are organized around a theme of a functional or developmental movement (such as breathing, reaching, or crawling). The movements usually start off very small and gradually build to involve the whole self. Afterwards, people often report feeling good in themselves: taller, lighter, grounded, clearer, more balanced, more aware, and a whole world of new sensations. All are welcome in these classes. Please contact Eve ([email protected]) if you have any questions regarding accessibility.

“I am a physician who developed sciatica after being on crutches for an injury. I was struggling and had not found relief from usual medical treatments. I found Feldenkrais not only helped me slowly heal from tightened, misbalanced muscles as well as taught me how to listen and know my body. Today I am pain free and back to running but with a spirit of curiosity about my body’s ways of communicating to me and self-compassion. Thank you, Eve!!” -Laurel Leslie, MD MPH

“Feldenkrais with Eve is such a wonderful invitation to rediscover how my body can move, hold itself up, and be at ease. Eve works in a gentle, collaborative, and insightful way. In turn, that helps trust my own body instead of being afraid of my injuries and chronic pain. That mind-body connection is so helpful for healing and renewal.”
