Mia Walz is a rising performing artist from Berlin, Germany. At only 19 years old, she is already making waves in the music industry, and is currently studying vocal performance at Berklee College of Music.
Mia's music is a unique blend of alternative R&B and pop infused with funky roots, all of which are combined with her soulfully warm yet raspy voice. Drawing inspiration from the legends of music such as The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, and Bruno Mars, Mia puts her own spin on these classic sounds. In addition to her influences from the past, Mia is also inspired by newer artists such as Lake Street Dive, Silk Sonic, Joss Stone, and Raye. By combining the best of the old and the new, Mia creates a sound that is uniquely her own. In addition to her personal sound, Mia has a rare talent for connecting with any audience using her exceptional stage presence and the ability to tell a story.
Registration is not required but the limited amount of seating is first come, first served. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Rabb Lecture Hall.
Boston Public Library's Wednesday evening concerts are presented in partnership with Berklee College of Music, and all concerts in the series are sponsored by Bank of America.
