Stop by Seaport Common for a swing from January 15th through March 15th.
Seaport's newest, interactive art installation on Seaport Common, Mi Casa, Your Casa 2.0, consists of 16 three-dimensional red frames, each emblematic of a small house. The art installation, created by artists Esrawe + Cadena, and presented in collaboration with Creos and Serge Maheu, was inspired by the mercados of Latin America, lively street markets where human connections are made every day.
The installation creates a moment to reflect on the meaning of home, a theme which has taken on even greater significance in the last year. Together, the tiny houses offer a canvas for play and engagement, allowing visitors to look through the walls of adjacent homes which offers a view into their neighbor's parallel journey.
When a casa is empty, a welcoming white glow bids you to enter. Once inside, the glow intensifies to show that someone is home. Each structure is also complete with a swing, allowing the space to be as playful and interactive as you desire.
Join our virtual Seaport Sessions conversation about Mi Casa, Your Casa 2.0 with the installation's creators, Hector Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena, on March 3, 2021. Click here to RSVP on Zoom
