Max Raabe and his 12-piece Palast Orchester bring Weimar-era cabaret to life by meticulously recreating music of the 1920s and 1930s with elegance, verve, and humor. Their new critically-acclaimed show Let´s Do It finds the German band taking on the American Songbook with a program stacked with standards like “Stormy Weather,” “Over My Shoulder,” and “Who´s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?,” along with the German counterparts written in the late 1920s. Hilarious songs like “When I Need Love, I Go to Pauline,” romances like “Women Are So Beautiful When They Love,” and classics like Kurt Weill´s “Bilbao Song” are cleverly woven into a highly entertaining evening that bridges time and space.
