Marvin Gilmore, descended of enslaved grandparents, has enjoyed an illustrious career worthy of the Museum's special "Profiles in Color" tribute with television personality Karen Holmes Ward -- director of public affairs, as well as host and executive producer of the CityLine program on WCVB/Channel 5. Holmes Ward leads the conversation with the civil rights activist, celebrated musician, successful entrepreneur, and decorated veteran about meeting world leaders, from presidents and governors to musicians and moguls. Gilmore will sign copies of his new book, “Crusader for Freedom: A Legacy of Battling Discrimination and Building Jobs,” joined by the book's author Paul Katzeff, former managing editor of the Boston Business Journal.
