Maritime Movie Club: Pirates of the Caribbean
“Wherever we want to go, we go. That’s what a ship is, you know. It’s not just a keel and hull and a deck and sails. That’s what a ship needs. But what a ship is… what the Black Pearl really is… is freedom”- Captain Jack Sparrow, Pirates of the Caribbean
Join the USS Constitution Museum’s Maritime Movie Club for a discussion of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl on Wednesday, December 30th at 3 p.m. ET. Prepare for a swashbuckling adventure with hosts Carl Herzog, Public Historian, and Jennifer Zanolli, Manager of Interpretation & Visitor Services, as they discuss Disney’s inspiration – both fictional and historical – for the iconic portrayals in the movie.
