About this event:
Simone John is a poet, educator, and artist based in Boston, MA. Her debut poetry collection, Testify, was published by Octopus Books in 2017. She received an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College with an emphasis on documentary poetics. In 2020, Simone was awarded a poetry fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. In addition to writing, Simone’s creative practices include co-creating events and exhibits through UnBound Bodies, a multidisciplinary queer Black arts collective; managing Hive Soul Yoga, a POC-centered wellness community; and producing archival audio projects. Carmen Barefield (she/her) is a poet and writer living in Salem, Massachusetts. Some of her work can be found in Popshot Magazine, Poetry Quarterly, Black Heart, and littledeathlit. You can find out more about her at carmenbarefield.com.
Andie Sheridan is a genderqueer Chinese American poet currently living in Boston. He is a MFA candidate at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where he explores a poetic practice interested in creating new forms as a way of creating new queer worlds. Andie's work has been featured in Hobart Pulp, Neon Door Lit, and The Ekphrastic Review, among others.
Alex Baskin is a graduate student at Harvard Divinity School. His poetry has appeared in some small-press literary journals. He is originally from New Jersey.
